Adore or Ignore: Magic Makeup Remover

Hi loves - welcome back!

Today I'm going to give you my thoughts on an item I received for Christmas - the Magic Makeup Remover
makeup remover cloth

The Magic Makeup Remover is a cloth that is designed to remove all of your makeup - including mascara and eyeliner - without the use of other products that may contain harsh chemicals and fragrances. It is very simple to use: wet the cloth, and wipe off your makeup!

Some of the perks of this product are that it is chemical-free, reusable, it removes stubborn makeup, is machine washable, and it cleans without stripping your skin of its natural moisture. It can be purchased online via Amazon, or on magicmakeupremover.net for $14.99. Right now, you can find this particular brand at The Paper Store for $11.99,  or you can choose from dozens of similar products available far and wide both online and in stores (ie: Makeup Eraser,  or the Wonder Cloth).

It is suggested that you wash your cloth prior to first use, to get rid of any residue that might have built up on it during packaging and storage (it's a good idea to wash items before first use in general).

Now, let's see if this Magic Makeup Remover cloth lives up to its claims!

Before - fully made-up face

Step One - wet the cloth thoroughly

Step Two - wring out the cloth so that it is wet, but not dripping

Step Three - begin gently wiping the short nap side of the cloth around your face in soft, circular motions to remove makeup

Don't forget your eyes, but be super gentle with this - do not pull and tug at this delicate area! If the makeup remover cloth is not getting all of your mascara off, do not scrub - use an eye makeup remover. For the amount of makeup I had on, the Magic Makeup Remover was able to take it all off; however, if I had on heavier eye makeup, I would probably use a backup method just to make sure it all comes off without pulling.

Use a gentle touch around the eyes!

Step Four - Use the Long nap side to gently exfoliate your face, and remove any remaining traces of makeup

Let's see how much makeup the cloth removed:

That was all on my face?!?

Looks like it got the job done

Results:

I used the Magic Makeup Remover Cloth to take off half of my makeup (left side of my face... your right lol). You can clearly see that the cloth did an impressive job of wiping away all the crud on my face!

One side fully made up, the other side makeup-free after using the cloth

Right side, makeup still on

Left side, makeup free after using the cloth
The cloth removed all my eye makeup, even my mascara and eyeliner!

Final Thoughts:

I quite enjoy this product: it's easy to use, reusable (machine-washable!), environmentally friendly (it replaces disposable face wipes) and it actually does what it says! I don't know that it would remove heavy eye makeup as easily, but that's what makeup remover is for, am I right?!? It would be especially great for someone who has a sensitivity to face washes, as it contains no chemicals or fragrance.

I really like that this cloth is an all-in-one tool, and that you don't need to use a separate cleanser with it; however, I have tried it along with my Cetaphil cleanser to see how it worked, and I got great results - the cleanser loosened up the makeup, and the cloth quickly and easily wiped it away.

I feel like this cloth does offer a little bit of exfoliation (similar to a wash cloth), but if you're into more heavy-duty exfoliating you should still incorporate your normal method, be it a physical or chemical exfoliant. I will say that after using the Magic Makeup Remover cloth, my skin does feel a bit tight and dry, but my normal moisturizer takes that feeling away with no lingering effects.

I think this would be the perfect item for travel, especially if you're going on an unexpected overnight trip, or even camping, as you don't need to pack a ton of different products. Just throw this in your bag along with some moisturizer, and you're out!

Overall, I am very happy with the Magic Makeup Eraser (thanks, sis!), and I will continue to incorporate it into my nighttime routine, alternating it with my usual facecloths.

  1. Wow! It totally works! I was a big skeptical of it, but it seems to really do the trick, I may have to invest in one of these (even though at the price, its not that big of an investment!) Great review... and great jammers :) <3

Yeah, I wasn't sure how well it would work either, but I was happy to see that it does what it promises!

  3. I really like it. I purchased these cloths to sell in my store and wanted to try it out first. Sometimes at night I add a little cleanser, but, in the shower in the AM I just use the Magic Makeup Remover.
We have a travel goods store and I'm going to recommend these for travel to avoid one of the bottles of product that we girls think we need to pack with us.
    Cheers

  4. Thinking of doing a makeup course? You can make this from Lina Cameron. You can take makeup lesson London from professional Lina. She is really good and professional in this line.
