I was nominated for a Liebster Award by Roberta from Roberta's World - she has a very informative and fun to read blog, so definitely go check it out! Thank you so much for nominating me Roberta!
If you do not already know what a Liebster Award is, don't worry - I only found out about it myself a few days ago! I've done some research, and while there are many variations on the rules, I like the ones I found on Wording Well (thanks Lorraine!) She lists many of the variations, so feel free to choose the set of rules that work best for you.
The Official Rules Of The Liebster Award

If you have been nominated for The Liebster Award AND YOU CHOOSE TO ACCEPT IT, write a blog post about the Liebster award in which you:
If you have been nominated for The Liebster Award AND YOU CHOOSE TO ACCEPT IT, write a blog post about the Liebster award in which you:
1. thank the person who nominated you, and post a link to their blog on your blog.
2. display the award on your blog — by including it in your post and/or displaying it using a “widget” or a “gadget”. (Note that the best way to do this is to save the image to your own computer and then upload it to your blog post.)
3. answer 11 questions about yourself, which will be provided to you by the person who nominated you.
4. provide 11 random facts about yourself.
5. nominate 5 – 11 blogs that you feel deserve the award, who have a less than 1000 followers. (Note that you can always ask the blog owner this since not all blogs display a widget that lets the readers know this information!)
6. create a new list of questions for the blogger to answer.
7. list these rules in your post (You can copy and paste from here.)* Once you have written and published it, you then have to:
8. Inform the people/blogs that you nominated that they have been nominated for the Liebster award and provide a link for them to your post so that they can learn about it (they might not have ever heard of it!)
11 Facts About Myself:
- This may not come as much of a surprise to some, but I am always late. Always. The harder I try, the later I seem to be. My own family sometimes tells me that an event starts earlier than it actually does, just so I'm on time.
- On that note, the reason I am probably late most days is because I cannot focus on one thing. I could be brushing my teeth and see a spot on the mirror, so I will wipe it away...which leads to wiping down the whole mirror...which then leads to wiping down the counter-top...followed by the sinks...and so on. I am easily distracted.
- Applying my makeup is one of the best parts of my day; I enjoy it so much that sometimes I wish I could apply my makeup twice each day - it is just a true pleasure.
- I get waaay too excited when I go shopping and there is a good sale. Seriously. My heart rate rises, my palms get clammy and my sister says I get a maniacal look in my eyes. Be forewarned if you ever go shopping with me!
- Speaking of shopping, I have a really hard time deciding on what to buy sometimes. I have been known to spend HOURS in TJMaxx, Sephora, and even CVS just trying to narrow down my options.
- I have seven tattoos, and can't wait to get more!
- My husband and I have full-blown "animal conversations", where we speak for our pets like they are people. They "talk" to us, and we talk back. Do not judge.
- I love to dance! I was mainly into ballet until I was about 18, but now I mostly just line dance (it's actually how I met my husband!).
- I have 11 nieces and nephews, many who are closer in age to me than my siblings (their parents). I also have one great-nephew.
- I cannot stand to get my hands dirty, in the most literal sense. If I get dirt under my nails or my hands get sticky, I am in a state of anxiety until I can wash them. This is particularly weird because I love to do things that might get my hands dirty, like go camping or paint a room in my house.
- I am so very grateful for my friends and family. They mean the world to me and I am thankful everyday that they are in my life.
My Answers to Roberta's Questions:
- What made you start blogging, and what have you learned along the way? I had considered starting a blog for awhile, either on my own or with my sister, but it was intimidating and I kept putting the idea aside. I finally got up the nerve when my friend Melissa suggested we do a palette challenge; you can read all about my blogger beginnings here. I've learned that while blogging in not easy, it is very rewarding, and you get to meet some awesome people.
- What is your biggest accomplishment? At this point in my life, I would have to say graduating college (it was not easy for me - I'm a procrastinator who hates to study), followed by buying a house.
- What are the three most important things in your life? My family and friends, my pets and my health.
- What is the best new product you have tried since starting your blog? Liz Earle's Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser! Love this stuff - I'll do a post on it soon!
- What is your favorite beauty product? Masacara - it just makes you look put together, whether it's to complete a full face of makeup, or to add a little polish on an otherwise makeup-free day.
- Who is the most inspiring person in your life? This may be cliche, but definitely my mother. She is an amazing woman who has gone through some really difficult things, and she remains positive and encouraging and just plain wonderful.
- What does your "me time" look like? Watching YouTube, painting my nails with a mask on my face and a glass of wine, or reading a good book...with a glass of wine.
- What advice would you give to other new bloggers? Don't be afraid to just go for it - you never know unless you try! Also, join groups and forums - other bloggers are the best helpers and biggest supporters!
- What do you think is the most important thing to teach your children? I don't have children, so I can't say out of experience, but I suppose I would want to teach them to be good, caring people who respect others' opinions and beliefs, to do the best they can in life, and to try not to take themselves too seriously. Also, let Mommy sleep, lol.
- What makes you special? That I have such amazing people in my life who surround me with love and positivity and can help me get through the difficult things in life. Also, my husband says I'm charismatic, which makes me feel pretty special ;)
- What is your favorite guilty pleasure? Anything with melted cheese, and reality forensics shows like "Snapped", "Forensic Files" and "Nightmare Next Door".

- Aside from food, water and shelter, what is one thing you could not live without?

That about wraps it up for me! I can't wait to read what all my nominees have to say! Please don't forget to nominate other bloggers, to link back to me - and have fun with this!
